Hi, I’m Charlene — the heart behind Charlene Westerlund Photography.

I’ve loved creating and capturing images for as long as I can remember. Ever since I was a child growing up in Singapore, I was always drawn to creativity and storytelling through photos. In my early 20s, life brought me to Baltimore, Maryland, where I explored different areas of photography, from branding work to food photography.

After having my first child, I took a step back from photography to focus on motherhood. Now, two boys later — with another little one arriving in Summer 2026 — those years as a stay-at-home mom completely changed the way I see photographs and the moments we hold onto.

Motherhood taught me just how quickly life moves. The tiny hands, the belly laughs, the messy beautiful chaos, the quiet in-between moments — they’re fleeting, and so deeply worth remembering.

Over time, I realized how much I missed capturing portraits and connecting with people. I love hearing stories, learning about families and relationships, and documenting the love that exists in every season of life. That’s what inspired me to create this business — a space where I can combine my passion for photography with my love for preserving authentic moments for others.

My style is warm, light-filled, and film-inspired, with a mix of gentle guidance and candid connection. I want your session to feel relaxed, natural, and fun — so your photos reflect not just how life looked, but how it felt.
